We’re going on a MOUSE HUNT! to Sykehouse, to the Carstairs Trust Hay Meadows, New Junction Canal aqueduct & River Went.

Meet : 11am (note altered time) at the first angler’s car park (SE644 174) DN14 9AP along North Lane, off Sykehouse Road.
Aims : To search for disused Harvest Mouse Nests in stands of tall grasses, sedges and rushes in wet habitats and along field boundaries. For each nest we try to record the type or species of supporting vegetation, type of nest (nursery or shelter) the height of the nest and the height of the top of the vegetation.
