YNU Meeting 4 July at Denby Delf 10.30am

This is our regular meeting with YNU which I organise in South Yorkshire.

It is rather further away than usual, but the nature reserve owned by Garganey Trust and chaired by Jeff Lunn (who gave us a talk last February) is well worth a visit. Jeff will lead the walk round the reserve. It is a hill which slopes down to the north, steep in places, but with steps. It has meadows, moorland, woodland and rough ground – very diverse.

Meet at the  reserve at SE 219072 [ no postcode ]

From the A635 Barnsley to Huddersfield road just east of Denby Dale turn south on a minor road (B6115) signed Upper Denby. Go through that village, and then turn right off the main road(effectively straight on). Go past a school and  houses into open country. The reserve is on the right through double wooden gates. Park on the right hand side of the road.

The meeting is all day (bring lunch) with a meeting at 4pm at The George in Upper Denby to discuss findings in the reserve.
