Next Meeting – Monday 9th June 2025, at 2.00pm in Finningley
We are meeting at 2.00pm in Finningley churchyard with the aim of carrying out a botanical and entomological survey of the churchyard and the new burial ground if there is time. I’m hoping that the weather will be fair but please come prepared for any eventuality. We’re certainly getting a mix of weathers and temperatures at the moment. There will be access to the church for facilities and tea and biscuits after we’ve had a look round. During this time I’m hoping we may be able to look at any specimens we’ve found. I’m borrowing the Nats’ bug pots and insect nets from Louise as she has a meeting and won’t be with us but please bring any equipment/reference books that you feel may be useful.
I am inviting anyone from our congregation who may be interested to join us. I do hope that you’ll be able to come and that we may be able to add one or two new species to our list.
If anyone hasn’t been to Finningley Church before you turn down Old Bawtry Road opposite the duck pond in the centre of the village. The church is at the end of Rectory Lane, which is just past the Harvey Arms and the Village Hall on your right. You can park along Rectory Lane or Old Bawtry Road making sure you don’t obstruct residents access. Alternatively if no-one is using the Village Hall you can park in their car park.
Thanks,
Tricia
