The Doncaster Microscopical and General Scientific Society have just arranged for an excellent course of lectures on the above most interesting subject.
The lecturer will be Mr. V. Perronet Sells, M.A., F.C.S., of the Leeds College, and the series will be in connection with the Universal Extension Movement.
There are eight lectures arranged for in all – four in February and four in March – and the grouping is evidently designed to bring the whole subject down to its very latest developments in its Telegraph, Electric Lighting, the Telephone, the Microphone and so forth – and all this from such rudimentary starting posts as What is a Magnet, Electrical Machines, and Leyden Jars.
We anticipate that these lectures will an intellectual treat, no less than an educational exercise of the highest attraction. The advertised prices of admission are little more than nominal.
