Doncaster Microscopical and General Scientific Society
A special general meeting of the above society was held on Wednesday evening.
Dr. J. Mitchell Wilson (vice-president) in the chair.
There were eighteen members present.
The following gentlemen, who had been duly nominated at the general meeting, were elected members of the society.
The Hon. F. Eden, Messrs. Arnot, Axe, S. S. Blackburne, F. Groom, H. A. Herbert, F.R.G.S., F. R. Scudamore, W. Sykes, and C. Thwaites.
It was proposed, seconded, and resolved unanimously, that ladies be admitted members of the society on an equality with gentlemen.
The proceedings terminated with the usual conversazione meeting, at which several objects of interest were exhibited under the microscopes by some of the members.
