   Peritrechus lundii – A lygaeid bug in sandy areas north to the Humber
   Ammophila sabulosa – A saw wasp of southern England extending north to Yorkshire

   Bembidion humerale – ‘Thorne Moors ground-beetle’ – only known sites in Britain are Thorne & Hatfield Moors
   Curimorpsis nigrita – An international rarity – only known sites in Britain are Thorne & Hatfield Moors.
   Large Heath Butterfly (Coenonympha tullia) – Endangered in lowland England are rare in Europe.

Marsh & Fens
   Ceroxys urticae – a picture-winged fly, occurs locally in marshes
   Delphax pulchellus – a frog hopper which occurs locally in reedbeds
   Dromius sigma – a fenland species, its UK distribution almost confined to the Hatfield Chase.
   Campsicnemis magius – a long-headed fly, a salt marsh species reaching its northerly outpost at Thorne Moors.

Pine & Oak Woodland
   Pilophorus cinnamopterus – A mirid bug, very local in Britain reaching far north at the Hatfield Moors pines
   Dictenidia bimeculata – a very local species of oak woodland, reaches as far north as Lindholme moors.
   Bordered White Moth (Bupalus piniaria) a pine wood specialist occurring on the Lindhome pines

Birch Woods 
   Pyropterus nigroruber – a lycid beetle, a national rarity of old forests.
   Strangalia quadrifasciata – a longhorn beetle occurring in older birchwoods
   Synanthedon culiciforme – the Large Red-belted Clearwing moth, a rarity in old birchwoods.
