Dear Sir
The Doncaster Microscopical Society propose to give a Conversazione on Thursday evening Oct 7th. Being recently established the number of Instruments possessed by it is somewhat limited and in order to make the exhibition satisfactory external help is sought.
With this view I have been requested by the Committee to ask the leading makers to lend us Instruments for the occasion. I need scarcely say that the utmost care shall be taken of any Microscopes etc. that may be thus kindly placed in our hands and they shall be returned with the least possible delay. Should you feel disposed to favour us in this matter I shall be glad in the course of a post or two to learn to what extent you can do so.
